Gavin Lockhart - Me: Free-range organic visual artist living and working on a croft in North Sutherland. My life and work are very mixed up and often finds my peaty fingers on the laptop and my camera on the tractor. What I started doing with video over 30 years ago, has had a lot of name changes - film/video/lens based/ time based/new-media - having looked at the world through my specs as long as I can remember, reckon I could be described as “lens-based” I look at things through my thick lenses and make things, sometimes with video, often with something else. In the cultural landscape we live in, I am more concerned with and am committed to the processes and connections made during the “arts” project than in the making of the artefact and hope this enthusiasm resonates from the work.
